We have been pioneers and practitioners in Australia and internationally in environmental impact assessment; environmental and health and safety auditing; environmental, health and safety, community relations and integrated management systems; and environmental and health and safety training. As we grow, we want to continue to stay focused on what has made us successful – our people. We want our employees to be continuously stimulated and provided with the opportunities to learn and improve. Our objective is to transfer this knowledge, experience and expertise to our clients.
Graham A Brown & Associates is a trading name of Archdall Investments Pty Ltd (ABN 65 001 325 104), an Australian family-owned consultancy company formed in 1975.
Our four decades of practical, hands-on experience is your organisation’s key to developing a sustainable business through implementing, auditing and improving environmental, health and safety and quality (EHSQ), community relations, supplier, contractor and integrated management systems. We offer our clients a world-class solution and we have the right skills and hands-on experience to achieve positive results for our clients.
Having completed hundreds of assignments for large, medium and small industrial, commercial and government organisations internationally, Graham A Brown & Associates enables clients to manage risk and compliance and in doing so improve their performance, demonstrate due diligence and enhance profitability.
Graham Brown was Australia’s first full-time, independent environmental consultant in 1970 (and at that time one of the first in the world), following 10 years in the mining and petroleum industries, during which time he reached Managing Director and General Manager status. He pioneered environmental impact assessment, EHS auditing and EHS management systems internationally, and became a leading trainer of EHS professionals and senior management in a number of disciplines internationally. This knowledge and experience has been enhanced through the addition of health and safety, quality, community relations, and supplier management consultancy expertise over many years. From our base in Newcastle, NSW, we have worked throughout Australia and New Zealand, as well as Fiji, French Polynesia, Northern Mariana Islands, the Philippines, Japan, PNG, USA, Laos, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Oman and Pakistan.
It is our objective to transfer our knowledge and experience to our clients and trainees through publications, training, consulting and mentoring.
To this end we have authored four loose-leaf books published by Thomson Reuters and updated at least every six months, including the Environmental Audit Guidebook (1993-2017 – 1594 pages with 56 updates); Environmental Awareness and Obligations – An Australian Management Perspective (1994-2014 – 948 pages with 28 updates), Environmental Management Systems Guidebook (1996-2017 – 1188 pages with 41 updates) and the Waste Management and Minimisation Guidebook (2001-2013 – 914 pages with 23 updates). These books were the texts for our public and in-house programs in which we trained several thousand persons ranging from directors and senior managers to recent graduates and the workforce, many of whom achieved environmental auditor certification. Other GABA publications have included the Environmental Management Program Manual; Environmental Audit Protocol on CD-ROM (published by Centre for Professional Development); Safety, Health, Environment and Quality Gap Analysis Protocols; Off-the-Shelf Training Programs; and eComp (EHS Compliance Self-Assessment and Regulatory Updates).
We have also authored or contributed to a number of government publications which have included:
This knowledge and experience remains fundamental to the success of Graham A Brown & Associates consultancy projects.
